In 2025, the first Swarnim Dharohar Lata Samman was posthumously conferred upon the legendary playback and Ghazal singer late Bhupinder Singh Ji, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Indian music and his artistic association with Lata Ji. The award was graciously accepted by his wife, Mitali Singh, during the concluding ceremony of "Lata Mahotsav 2025" in Nava Raipur, Atal Nagar, amid warm tributes, special performances, and heartfelt celebrations by noted musicians and dancers.

Who We Are
In honor of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar Ji, an eternal jewel of Indian music and the divine embodiment of Mata Saraswati, the ‘Swarnim Dharohar Lata Foundation’, based in Raipur (Chhattisgarh), has launched a Signiant cultural initiative. This endeavor aims to pay tribute to her unparalleled contribution to music and the nation, while preserving and transmitting her timeless musical legacy to future generations.
To further encourage and discover emerging talent, the Foundation organizes a prestigious national-level singing competition every year. The most exceptional performer is honored with the ‘Swarnim Dharohar Lata Puraskar’, a symbol of excellence and a tribute to Lata Ji’s eternal musical spirit. In addition, the Foundation has instituted a Lifetime Achievement Award ‘Swarnim Dharohar Lata Samman’ to honor legendary figures from the world of music be it musicians, music directors or lyricists who have made remarkable contributions to Indian music & arts and who have had the honor of working with Lata Ji during her illustrious career.
The Foundation envisions establishing a dedicated Music University in the capital city, Raipur where aspiring talents from across the country will receive formal education in various musical disciplines such as vocals, instrumental music and classical dance under the mentorship of distinguished & renowned maestros in their respective Felds.
